The effect of this chart is to give an instant panoramic view of the ancestral
family with easy to follow relationships through all the branches of the family.
The chart style is known as a "drop-line" chart and is traditionally
the most difficult chart to produce because the physical size of the chart is usually quite large
and it can really only be attempted when the research is complete - otherwise, fitting a new
family member in, or a whole new branch of the family - can prove difficult.
A number of family history software packages can produce various forms of this type of chart
but I have found them to be "cluttered" with too much information, decorative boxes and crowded
together to the extent that they are difficult to "read" and the desired impact of the overall
panoramic view is lost.
The software used to generate this version of the complete family tree overcomes these problems by:
- Allowing "draftsmanship" to be applied and customised to reposition entire generations and family groups
- Allows redrafting of an originally created Family Tree Chart to accommodate additional new entries.
Additions to supplied Family Tree Charts can be carried out at a cost of £25 (minimum cost) per additional 10 names. Additional copies of Family Tree Charts can be supplied at £10 each.
- Combined with pdf (Adobe Acrobat) creation features allows the addition of attractive titles and comments on the finished chart to suit your requirements.
