The results of each assignment will be recorded as follows:.

  • A comprehensive report detailing the objectives, results, sources, all records consulted whether they produced results or not and any relevant recommendations.
  • Colour coded Pedigree and Descendancy charts when a family tree is involved.
  • The family tree incorporated into a computer family history database package (provided free).

Research

Research carries no guarantees that the outcome can be successful or produce the expected results. Sometimes the records required no longer exist or do not clearly provide the information looked for.


Expenses


Expenses incurred will be itemised and charged for at cost and cover the costs of certified certificates, travel, copying, any subscriptions required for access to records; and will be estimated in the initial proposal.


Process


Before research can commence:

I will need to know as much as you do about the family - I will need copies of any certificates or any other relevant family documentation.

Your objectives and a proposal from me to meet them will need to be agreed.


How to Start


Send me an email (see the Contact/Email) menu option outlining your requirement and we will initiate an email correspondence to establish the details needed.


Payment


A minimum payment of 80% of either the fixed price package or the custom proposal is required before research can commence. The balance of 20% is payable on completion.

Payment will be by cheque in the agreed currency drawn on your own bank and made payable to SMSys Ltd. Payment in currencies other than GBP (GB Pounds Sterling) or through non UK banks will incur an additional £15(GBP)/$30(USD) or equivalent to cover cheque clearing charges.

If the research activity reaches a "dead-end" earlier than the budgeted time and costs, following consultation the remaining pre-paid amount will be returned or held on account for further assignments.
